About Me
Hi, I’m Abigail, a Registered Social Worker based in Alberta. I work with individuals who are navigating trauma, including experiences of sexual violence, exploitation, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, and challenges with regulation.
My clinical work has been shaped by supporting youth impacted by sexual exploitation and complex trauma, as well as my training and practicum at Resolve Trauma Collective, where I am now a member. This experience deepened my understanding of how trauma shows up in everyday life and the importance of balancing processing with stabilization and support.
I grew up in a small town in Alberta, where I came to understand both the closeness and the limitations of those environments. It left me with a strong pull toward understanding complexity, difference, and the broader contexts that shape people’s lives, which continues to influence how I approach this work.
Clients often describe me as calm, warm, and easy to be with, while also able to stay present with the more difficult and complex parts of their experiences. I bring a steady, accepting presence, with moments of lightness when it feels right, allowing space for both depth and breath within the work.
I approach this work with both clinical training and a deep understanding of how these experiences can shape someone’s sense of self and safety.
Outside of therapy, I value creativity and self-expression, including through fashion, as well as the small, grounding routines of daily life (often shaped by my two cats).
I aim to offer a space that is grounded and compassionate, while being honest about the reality that this work can involve difficult and meaningful experiences. Together, we move toward a deeper understanding of what you’ve been carrying, at a pace that respects your capacity and timing.
Hi, I’m Abigail, a Registered Social Worker based in Alberta. I support individuals navigating trauma, including experiences of sexual violence, exploitation, and emotional overwhelm, anxiety, or difficulty with regulation.
My work is grounded in anti-oppressive practice and shaped by an understanding that therapy does not happen outside of the systems we live in. I approach this work with awareness of the broader social, cultural, and historical contexts that impact how people experience trauma, safety, and healing, alongside ongoing reflection on how these dynamics show up within the therapeutic relationship.
I integrate EMDR, body-based, and expressive approaches in my work, allowing us to move beyond just talking about experiences and instead work with how trauma is held in the body, in patterns, and in ways that aren’t always easy to put into words. At times, we may bring in creative or expressive elements, especially when language feels limited or overwhelming.
I work collaboratively with clients to explore patterns shaped by past experiences, while supporting nervous system regulation and creating space for processing at a pace that feels safe and manageable. This work is relational and built over time, especially in contexts where trust may have been impacted by past experiences with systems or helping professionals.
My clinical work has been shaped by supporting youth impacted by sexual exploitation and complex trauma, as well as my training and practicum within a trauma-focused private practice setting. This has deepened my understanding of how trauma shows up in everyday life, and the importance of balancing processing with stabilization and support.
